President and CEO.

George E. LeVasser is the son of Tropic Oil’s founder, George A. LeVasser. Mr. LeVasser graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Pharmacy. After five years in the pharmaceutical field in Maryland, he returned to Miami to join the family business, approaching five decades of the family legacy.
Vice President of Operations

Mr. Gorey graduated from Troy State University in 1990 with a degree in Business Management and immediately went to work with Tropic Oil. In his 20-year tenure, he has held virtually every position in the company. Mr. Gorey was named Vice President of Operations in 1996.

Retired from ExxonMobil after 30 years of service, Mr. Rodriguez joined Tropic Oil in 2006. A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Mr. Rodriguez earned a Marine Engineering Degree.
Vice President, Quality Assurance

A former Harrier pilot and U.S. Marine, Colonel Gurney joined Tropic Oil in 2010. A graduate of Air University’s School of Advanced Air and Space Studies, as well as National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Colonel Gurney holds two Masters degrees and a commercial pilot’s license.
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Evenson joined Tropic Oil in 2002 after six years working in various Controller and Consulting positions at Southeast Florida firms. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in Dallas, Texas in accounting positions in both public and industry-specific accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and graduate of the University of Iowa with a BBA in Accounting.
Tropic Oil Company, Marine Department, Operations and Sales

Mr. Davis has 25 years experience in the bunkering, petroleum products and shipping industries for Florida, U.S. Gulf and Caribbean markets. A 1984 graduate from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Marine Transportation and Nautical Science.
Application Developer / Systems Administrator

Prior to working at Tropic Oil, Mr. Gongar worked as a Programmer/Analyst at various banks and mortgage corporations. He received his degrees in Computer Programming and Analysis, and in Computer Science. He holds the following IT certifications: Certified Internet Web Professional Associate, NRIS Visual C++ Programmer, CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Project+, i-Net+, and Linux+. He is also a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals.
Inventory Manager

Mr. Clendennin started with Tropic Oil as a driver, a position he held for 26 years before being promoted to Plant Manager for five years, and finally moving into his current position five years ago.
Office Manager

Ms. Sulzbach has been the administrative operations backbone of Tropic Oil for close to four decades, and works closely with Susan A. Wood, the company’s Logistics administrator.
Logistics Administrator/Office

Ms. Wood is in charge of Tropic Oil’s consignment stock for Vickers-Oil and Innospec products, handles the company’s State of Florida and Federal tax reports, is the trustee of the company’s 401(k) pension plan, as well as lubricants pricing, and assistant to the office manager.
Plant Manager

Mr. Corr joined Tropic Oil in March of 2004 after 13 years with Greyhound Bus Lines as the Maintenance and Facilities Manager for facilities located in the southeast including Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Nashville, Tn. With Greyhound his duties consisted of managing coach maintenance quality and appearance, OSHA safety compliance, inventory control, and facilities maintenance. Before Greyhound he was a police officer both in Florida and Colorado.
Marine Sales Logistic Coordinator

Mrs. Thompson started as a customer service representative in Tropic’s order department and was promoted in 2000 to Marine Sales Logistic Coordinator to manage Tropic Oil’s marine customers.
